She who turns the wheels of the Heavens: image copyright Helene Deroubaix

Leading a tribe of wild monkeys in her wake, Ever has burst into flight;
perching at daybreak for rest on church steeples and on the tops of tall
cedars, by night she can be seen gliding high over the unsleeping towers of
corporate America with the stars on her back. After moonrise, she joins the
song of a choir of angels, and at her voice the world below warps and
changes, quite ordinary objects becoming figures strange and beautiful and
yet eerily recognizable; only at daybreak, after she has furled her wings
about her like a winter coat, do the cedars rest and wait and wait for rest.
