Dante's Heart
JANETTE MACDONALD - Fiction Editor
Jennie has acquired great wisdom over the years, having regularly
sought advice from caterpillars and having often slipped down to the
size of a dormouse in order to peer under toadstools and dance under
the bright orange lanterns that the fairies hang from the low-hanging
boughs of the apricot trees in the arbor behind her house. At this very
moment she is overseas somewhere on a ship or in a library shaped like
a ship, but ravens drop her correspondence off on our porches, and we
send our letters back by sea lion.
